Pakistan — Opening an account: the slips beginners make
Registration is short. The damage comes from a few habits picked up along the way — how each one looks on screen, and what to do instead.
Very little goes wrong inside the form: an email address and a password take a few minutes. What goes wrong sits around it — the tab you opened, the password you reused, the demo you skipped.
So this page skips the order of the steps and goes through the places people slip.
Screen by screen: the slip and the swap
Six screens, in the order they appear. Each of these feels harmless at the time.
| On screen | The slip | Instead |
|---|---|---|
| Address bar | address typed by hand, or a link from a message | open it from the button here; the bar says exness.com |
| Email and password | a password already used elsewhere | a new one, stored where you will find it later |
| Demo or real | real at once, because demo feels unserious | demo first: virtual money, no documents, no time limit |
| Account type list | a type picked by the sound of its name | Standard is the usual start; see account types |
| Document upload | a cut edge, or a name spelled differently | whole document in frame, spelling matching the form |
| Deposit field | the minimum read as the amount to begin with | an amount you could lose entirely; Standard has no minimum |
This site is an independent guide and opens nothing for anyone: the form is filled in on the broker side.
Four slips worth a longer look
-
Going real because the demo «is not real trading»
A demo hands you virtual money and asks for no documents — which is why the first mistakes belong there. They cost nothing, and no time limit pushes you off. Going real on day one means paying for the same lessons in cash: demo account.
-
Practising without a stop-loss, «because it is only practice»
A stop-loss closes a trade automatically once the loss reaches a level you set in advance. Skipped on the demo, it gets skipped on the first real trade too — habits do not appear when money becomes real. Levels: risk basics.
-
Reading the minimum deposit as a recommendation
The Standard account has no minimum deposit; other types have one that depends on the type and the region, shown during sign-up before any money moves. A minimum is a floor, not a target — the number that matters is one you could lose entirely: deposits and withdrawals.
-
Finishing everything in one sitting, then trading immediately
Sign-up, documents, deposit and a first trade in one evening is how people open a position while tired and irritated by a form. Nothing expires: stop after the demo, come back later.
Keep a short record of your own slips
Two lines per slip are enough: what the screen said, what you pressed, what you would press next time. Written down, a mistake stops repeating after the second entry; kept in your head, it returns on a day you are in a hurry. A screenshot keeps the wording.
One detail confuses people in their own notes: the platform clock and your computer clock need not agree, and neither is broken. Note which one an entry uses, and «before» and «after» still make sense later.
Asked after the fact
I typed the address by hand and the site opened. Is that still a problem?
It opened this time. Fake copies of broker sites exist, and typing by hand or following links from messages is how people reach them.
I reused an old password at sign-up. Does it really need changing?
Yes, before real money is anywhere near it. This account may hold your money one day.
I skipped the demo and went straight to a real account. What now?
Nothing is broken. Verification comes before you trade with real money, so there is time to open a demo alongside and practise there.
I would rather not send documents anywhere. Can I still practise?
Yes. A demo needs only an email address and a password, and never asks to verify anything.
My document was not accepted. Do I send the same photo again?
Send it differently: whole document in frame, spelling matching the form. Rules against fraud and money laundering require brokers to confirm who their clients are.
The minimum on screen is above what I planned. Should I add more?
No. Stay on the Standard account, which has no minimum deposit, or wait.
I stopped halfway a month ago. Do I start again from the beginning?
No, you continue where you stopped — the remaining steps have no deadline. More in the questions and answers.
Which of these slips is worth fixing first?
The stop-loss habit — the only one that keeps working after the account is open.

Risk basics
Where the stop-loss level comes from, and what a trade may cost.
The cheapest place to make these mistakes is a demo.
